Questions and Answers

“Why can I not use this coffee maker in the US?”

This coffee maker has a European Asian plug. That means that it needs a 220 volt power outlet. Most of the outlets in North America are 110 volt. You might have a 220 volt for your stove and dryer, but the plug is designed differently and will not likely fit into those outlets.

“Is the carafe made of glass?”

Yes, this coffee maker comes with a glass carafe that has a sturdy open handle to make pouring easier.

“What is the purpose of the filter release button?”

The filter release button makes it easier to put in the filter and the grounds, and to take them out when the brewing cycles is finished. It also makes it easier to clean.

“How long does the water filter last?”

With daily use, you should replace the water filter after about a month for the best coffee flavor.

“Can I make less than 10 cups of coffee?”

Yes, you can make as little as two cups if you like. Any less than two cups does not work very well because the machine might have a hard time getting enough water up to the filter basket.

The Braun KF520 CafeHouse Coffee Maker is not meant to be used in North America. Many people did not notice this disclaimer when they bought their unit, and ended up being very disappointed when the machine arrived. However, if you live in a country that uses 220 volt power, this is a great machine for you. You can also get a 220V to 110V converter for about $10 – $15.

The filtered water brings out the best coffee flavor you have ever tasted. The flavor of the coffee is comparable to the best coffee house coffee. This machine is designed for true coffee enthusiasts that are very fussy about the taste of their coffee.

I always by Braun products because they are built to last. When this coffee maker arrived, quit quickly I might add, I thought it looked great! The price was good and I was very happy. That is until I tried to use it! They could have made it a little clearer that this product can’t be used in the US. What a disappointment
